About Jasper Tudor 4074

The Jasper Tudor Lodge No. 4074 meets at Newport Masonic Hall on the third Saturday of each month. This vibrant, popular and friendly Lodge is proud of its historical past. The Lodge was first established in 1920 and celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2020.

Today, the Lodge continues to thrive in membership. The Lodge boasts a youthful membership with a clear emphasis on exemplary ritual matched by a dynamic social calendar. This provides an attractive reason for candidates wishing to join the Lodge. A consequence of this is the number of visitors who wish to share the ‘JT’ experience. One of the highlights is the awarding of the George Reynolds Preceptor Cup. This is an honours cup presented to a non-worshipful master who has made a significant contribution to Lodge of Instruction evenings and events. Members are supported in their ambitions through mentoring and clear communication.

Many of the Founder members of the Jasper Tudor Lodge were from professions that included; Financiers, Bankers, Accountants, Directors, Managers, and Consultants.
Our Mission

History

This vibrant, popular and friendly Lodge is proud of its historical past. The Lodge was first established in 1920 and celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2020. A 300-page book was published to celebrate this milestone event. The thirteen lodges that were in existence in the Province in the late 1910s wanted to establish a new Lodge that would meet on a Saturday. They believed that the new Lodge would cater for the men who were restricted from joining the fraternity through working away from home during the working week, for example, travelling merchants. Up until very recent times, the Lodge was often referred to as the ‘Travelling Merchants Lodge.’
